North Korea Launches Around 10 Short-Range Ballistic Missiles
North Korea launched around 10 short-range ballistic missiles on Thursday (20/8), Yonhap news agency reported, citing the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS). Earlier the same day, the Japan Coast Guard said North Korea had been detected carrying out a launch suspected to be a ballistic missile. The projectiles fell outside Japan’s Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ). “North Korea has launched around 10 short-range ballistic missiles from the area around Pyongyang,” the Joint Chiefs of Staff said, as quoted by the news agency. The missile launches were directed towards the Sea of Japan, the Joint Chiefs of Staff added.
