North Kolaka Regency Government forms task force to oversee Free Nutritious Meals programme

Kendari (ANTARA) - The North Kolaka Regency Government in Southeast Sulawesi has formed a Task Force for the Acceleration of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) Programme in the region, to ensure that all stages of the national programme can run optimally, in an integrated manner and on target for beneficiaries.

North Kolaka Regional Secretary Muhammad Idrus, contacted in Kendari on Wednesday, said the formation of the special task force was an important foundation for synergising the roles of all technical agencies and stakeholders.

According to him, cross-sector coordination plays a key role in ensuring that the distribution and management of the MBG programme in the field runs in a coordinated and effective manner.

“The Free Nutritious Meals programme requires the synergy of all parties without exception. Therefore, cross-sector coordination must continue to be strengthened so that the entire series of implementation can run in a directed, transparent and well-targeted manner,” said Muhammad Idrus.

He said the success indicators of the MBG programme are not solely measured by the availability of food stocks for the community.

Muhammad Idrus explained that other far more important aspects include certainty of raw material quality, food safety standards, smooth distribution chains to remote villages, validation of beneficiary data, and regular monitoring at every level.

“The most important thing is how this priority programme truly provides a direct impact and real benefits in improving the quality of public health. Every element in the Task Force must carry out its operational and supervisory functions with full responsibility,” he said.

Through close synergy among regional agencies in the MBG Task Force, the North Kolaka Regency Government is optimistic that the fulfilment of public nutrition, especially for children and vulnerable beneficiary groups, can be achieved efficiently and sustainably.
