North Kalimantan Governor Welcomes Planned Visit from Sabah Officials
Tanjung Selor, North Kalimantan (ANTARA) - North Kalimantan Governor Zainal A. Paliwang stated that the provincial government will soon receive an official visit from the Government of the State of Sabah, Malaysia, which is expected to strengthen border area cooperation.
“We will receive important guests from the Government of the State of Sabah in the near future,” he said during the morning assembly of civil servants at Agathis Field, Tanjung Selor, Bulungan Regency, on Monday.
In the first assembly after the Eid al-Fitr holiday and collective leave, attended by Deputy Governor Ingkong Ala, Zainal invited all civil servants to show their best attitude as representatives of North Kalimantan society.
He assessed that the meeting between local governments in the Indonesia-Malaysia border area has the potential to bring positive impacts, particularly for strengthening cross-country economic and social cooperation.
“We must show that North Kalimantan people are friendly, polite, and respectful of guests,” he said.
In front of thousands of civil servants, Zainal also emphasised the importance of integrity in carrying out public service duties, not only prioritising hospitality in welcoming guests.
He reminded civil servants to work professionally and maintain ethics in every aspect of service to the community.
In addition, he asked officials to be more careful in managing information, especially sensitive information, to avoid potential negative impacts.
“Show your best performance. Even though positions are limited, rewards will be given to those who excel,” he said.
The morning assembly was also combined with Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah or 2026 CE halal bihalal activities attended by all levels of the local government.
The Governor, Deputy Governor, and heads of regional device organisations shook hands with civil servants as a form of strengthening ties.
That tradition became a momentum to strengthen togetherness and solidarity in the local government environment.
Zainal also conveyed Eid al-Fitr greetings to all civil servants and the people of North Kalimantan.
“Happy Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah, please forgive my physical and spiritual shortcomings,” he said.
He also encouraged civil servants to continue improving the quality of public services as part of the local government’s commitment.
