Jakarta (ANTARA) - North Jakarta City Secretary Iyan Sopian Hadi stated that the development planning carried out by the government must truly address the needs of the community and drive competitive and sustainable economic growth.

“The direction of future development policies must be able to explore new economic potentials and strengthen the foundations of inclusive development,” said Iyan when opening the 2026 Economic Affairs and Development Musrenbang in Jakarta on Tuesday.

According to him, collaboration and synergy are very important in designing sustainable development that directly impacts the community. Collaboration in the Musrenbang has produced several city development proposals.

“We must be able to optimise existing potentials, while still paying attention to equitable development and the welfare of North Jakarta residents,” he said.

“The focus of development is not only on economic growth but also on improving the quality of life for the community through reliable infrastructure,” he added.

In addition, good environmental management and area connectivity that supports residents’ activities.

Several priority programmes discussed include the normalisation of the Cakung Lama River, dredging of the Angke River, the construction of road infrastructure and health facilities, as well as the revitalisation of Temporary Disposal Sites (TPS) and the addition of waste transport fleets.

He hopes that all proposals and development plans can be well-structured and directed.

“The North Jakarta City Government is committed to delivering development oriented towards the interests of the community, sustainable, and capable of comprehensively improving the quality of life for residents,” said Wawan.
