North Jakarta Transport Office Issues Penalties on 16 Cargo Vehicles in Pademangan
The North Jakarta Sub-District Transportation Office (Sudinhub) took action against 16 cargo vehicles during the Lintas Jaya operation on Lodan Road near Ancol East Gate in Ancol Village, Pademangan District, on Tuesday.
“This operation is conducted regularly in different locations across six districts in North Jakarta to ensure traffic order,” said Sulaeman, Commander of the Enforcement Platoon at Sudinhub Jakarta Utara, in Jakarta on Tuesday.
He stated the operation aims to enforce compliance among cargo vehicles violating traffic rules and endangering road users. The 16 vehicles were issued violation reports (BAP) or traffic fines.
The enforcement was carried out as the vehicles were found to lack proper documentation, overload cargo, or be in poor roadworthy condition.
“This operation involved around 20 joint personnel from Sudinhub Jakarta Utara, assisted by military and police units,” he added.
He urged vehicle owners and drivers to always check their vehicles’ roadworthiness and administrative documents before operating, and to avoid overloading, which poses a high risk of accidents.
“We hope this operation and strict penalties will deter drivers and transport companies from violating regulations,” he said.
Meanwhile, cargo driver Hairul, 45, admitted being checked by officers while transporting sacrificial animals for Eid al-Adha.
He said the operation is beneficial for regulating non-compliant or illegal vehicles. “Officers checked my documents and issued a warning. I am ready to rectify any missing paperwork if required,” he added.
