North Jakarta Mayor Invites Residents to Strengthen Brotherhood During Eid al-Fitr

Jakarta (ANTARA) - North Jakarta Mayor Hendra Hidayat has invited the local community to utilise the momentum of Idul Fitri 1447 Hijriah as an opportune time to strengthen togetherness and reinforce the values of brotherhood. “Let us make this Idul Fitri momentum an occasion to tighten silaturahmi and mutual forgiveness,” said Hendra in North Jakarta on Saturday. According to him, the Idul Fitri momentum can bolster togetherness in building a better and more harmonious North Jakarta. He also hopes that the Ramadan spirit, which has been practised for a full month, can continue in everyday life. “The aim is to create a more caring, harmonious, and prosperous society,” stated Hendra. Meanwhile, hundreds of people attended the Idul Fitri 1447 H prayers in the west plaza courtyard of the North Jakarta City Hall on Saturday. In his sermon, KH Abdul Jalil invited all congregations to be grateful for having performed the Ramadan fast and being able to conduct the Idul Fitri prayers. He emphasised that fasting is not merely about abstaining from hunger and thirst, but also serves as a means to enhance faith, strengthen social concern, and maintain silaturahmi. In addition, the congregation was reminded to continue applying Ramadan values, such as empathy, sharing, and concern for others, in daily life. “We hope that Muslims, including this group, return to their fitrah and are able to maintain piety in community life,” said Abdul.
