Jakarta (ANTARA) - The North Jakarta Transportation Sub-Department (Sudinhub) is conducting a mapping of potential congestion from logistics transport (container trucks) expected at Tanjung Priok Port on Monday (30/3), following the Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah holiday.

“We held a coordination meeting earlier today with KSOP, Pelindo, the Metro Jaya Police Traffic Directorate, the North Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Unit, the Tanjung Priok Port Police Traffic Unit, the Transportation Department, and others to anticipate potential congestion on Monday (30/3),” said the Head of the North Jakarta Transportation Sub-Department, Rudy Saptari Sulesuryana, in Jakarta on Friday.

With the end of the Idul Fitri 1447 Hijriah holiday, goods transport activities at Tanjung Priok Port will resume on Monday (30/3). Therefore, relevant stakeholders are holding coordination meetings to anticipate the influx of vehicles arriving at the port and to prevent long traffic jams.

Based on information from the Harbourmaster and Port Authority Office (KSOP), said Rudy, there will be an increase in vehicle volume on the first day of port activities, but it will not be as severe as the congestion that occurred in 2025.

“Vehicle restrictions have already been implemented,” he stated.

Meanwhile, traffic engineering will be carried out by the Metro Jaya Police Traffic Directorate, assisted by the North Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Unit and the Tanjung Priok Port Police Traffic Unit.

“For traffic engineering, it will be handled by the police, and we are providing support,” said Rudy.

Several road sections that will be monitored by Sudin Perhubungan officers include Jalan Yos Sudarso, Jalan Enggano, up to Jalan Babek TNI in the Cilincing area, which are likely to be crowded with large trucks on that day.

“We are also assisted by the Public Order Agency team, the Transportation Department, and others in anticipating long congestion,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Road Transport Traffic Operations Section of the North Jakarta Transportation Sub-Department, Yulza Ramadhoni, stated that around 80 personnel will be deployed to assist the police in traffic engineering if congestion occurs.

“We are also deploying tow trucks in case of vehicle breakdowns,” she said.
