Jakarta (ANTARA) - The North Jakarta Class I Immigration Office has arrested ten Chinese nationals who were working as construction labourers on a project in the Pluit Karang Sari housing complex, Penjaringan, North Jakarta. “These ten Chinese nationals were found working as labourers, while they only held visit visas for Indonesia,” said Head of the North Jakarta Class I Immigration Office, Rendra Mauliansyah, in Jakarta on Saturday. He stated that the Chinese nationals with the initials WY, ZZ, and BX entered Indonesia using Visit Visas (C2) and were engaged in construction work, specifically assembling iron and pillars for the building. Meanwhile, the other Chinese nationals, with the initials ZZ, XW, LH, ZH, ZY, LJ, and JP, also entered on Visit Visas (C2) but were working as labourers cutting wood and iron for the building’s main frame. “They are being held in the detention room of the North Jakarta Class I Immigration Office before being deported and blacklisted,” Rendra said. On Friday (17/7), the ten Chinese nationals were subjected to immigration administrative actions in the form of deportation and inclusion on the blacklist, in accordance with Article 75 Paragraph 2 letters a and f. “They are being returned to their country via a Jakarta-Guangzhou flight route through Soekarno-Hatta International Airport,” Rendra revealed.
