North Jakarta Firefighter Dies in Accident After Shift

A member of the North Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat), Hafidz Imammudin Saleh (21), has died. Hafidz, a Public Infrastructure and Facilities Handling (PJLP) personnel at Pademangan Sector, passed away on Saturday morning (15/8/2026).

Head of Operations Section of North Jakarta and Thousand Islands Fire and Rescue Service, Gatot Sulaeman, said Hafidz died as a result of a traffic accident. “The deceased died due to a traffic accident, on his way home after his shift,” said Gatot.

Gatot said the accident occurred while Hafidz was travelling home after completing his shift as a firefighter. Hafidz was recorded as a PJLP personnel at Pademangan Sector, Group A.

News of Hafidz’s passing was also conveyed through the official Instagram account of North Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service. The extended family of North Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service expressed their condolences over Hafidz’s passing.

It was stated that Hafidz passed away on Saturday at around 08.00 WIB. His body was then buried at Rorotan Public Cemetery, North Jakarta.

“May the deceased receive a noble place in the sight of Allah SWT and may the bereaved family be granted fortitude and patience,” he said.
