North Jakarta City Government to Summon Dozens of Companies for Unpaid Religious Holiday Allowances
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The North Jakarta City Government (Pemkot Jakut) will summon 29 companies because they have yet to pay the 2026 Religious Holiday Allowance (THR) despite Eid this year having concluded.
“Overall, there are 37 complaints received and eight complaints have been processed,” said the Head of the Labour, Transmigration, and Energy Sub-Department (Sudin Nakertransgi) Noviar Dinariyanti in Jakarta on Monday.
The remaining 29 companies will be summoned to resolve the matter.
“We are still in the process of summoning them this week and next,” she said.
She stated that the total number of 2026 Religious THR complaints through the official Posko THR of the Ministry of Manpower in North Jakarta was 60 complaints.
Previously, the DKI Labour, Transmigration, and Energy Department stated that there are more than 500,000 companies of various scales in the DKI Jakarta region.
Therefore, supervision is conducted through sampling by directly visiting several companies.
The Head of the DKI Labour, Transmigration, and Energy Department (Nakertransgi), Syaripudin, said that his side had conducted sudden inspections (sidak) at several locations ahead of Eid.
He emphasised that supervision will continue, even after Eid. This step is taken to ensure that all companies fulfil their obligations to workers.
Previously, the Minister of Manpower (Menaker) Yassierli warned of sanctions for companies that do not comply with regulations regarding the provision of religious holiday allowances (THR).
“As a rule of law state, all companies are obliged to obey the applicable provisions and ensure that workers’ rights are properly fulfilled,” said Minister Yassierli.
He stressed that THR is a normative right of workers/labourers that must be paid in full and may not be deducted for any reason, including due to attendance or the company’s economic condition.
“THR must not be deducted. There is a misunderstanding when THR is linked to attendance, and that is not justified,” said the Minister.
Such fines do not eliminate the obligation to pay THR and are used for the welfare of workers/labourers in accordance with applicable provisions.
According to him, every company is obliged to comply with statutory regulations because Indonesia is a rule of law state that places the protection of workers’ rights as an obligation that must be fulfilled.
