North Jakarta Chamber of Commerce and Industry urged to drive economic growth

North Jakarta has a strategic position as a coastal city that hosts the largest port in Indonesia, giving it considerable economic potential. Jakarta (ANTARA) – The North Jakarta City Government (Pemkot Jakut) has asked the local Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) to play a role for the 2025–2030 term in boosting economic growth to improve further. North Jakarta has a very large and strategic potential, so all parties must continue to work together to improve the quality of the business environment as well as the quality of life for residents. He hopes that companies operating in North Jakarta will continue to contribute through various corporate social responsibility (CSR) programmes that have a direct impact on the community. Let us together make North Jakarta a city that is advanced, prosperous, and competitive. We from the city government fully support these efforts, he said. He stressed that a position within an organisation is not merely a symbol, but a mandate to deliver real solutions for the community and for business operators, especially micro, small and medium enterprises (UMKM). This role is not just for show but a mandate to move the economy and provide real solutions for the community and for UMKM, he said. According to him, North Jakarta is an economic gateway for Indonesia because it has an international port as well as various industrial estates and world-class tourist destinations. We are strategic partners of the government. In other words, Kadin must be a friend to the regional government in delivering development programmes. Do not just wait for programmes, but actively seek opportunities, he added. Meanwhile, the Chair of North Jakarta Kadin, Arief Dharmawanto, stated that the inauguration of the new leadership marks an early moment to strengthen the organisation’s commitment in facing the increasingly dynamic business environment. He said this momentum is not merely a ceremony but a starting point for a renewed commitment to work more solidly, adaptively and progressively in responding to the challenges of the business world. He explained that North Jakarta Kadin plays a strategic role as a partner of the government in driving regional economic growth, strengthening UMKM and cooperatives, and enhancing the competitiveness of industry. He assessed that the composition of the North Jakarta Kadin leadership also reflects the strength of the business sector in the area. He also invited all managers to work with a spirit of togetherness, integrity and professionalism to make North Jakarta Kadin a large, inclusive and solutions-oriented home for the business community. Through this City Leadership Meeting (Rapimkota), we want to make it a space for consolidating ideas and aligning the organisation’s work programmes, he said.
