The North Jakarta City Administration is strengthening energy and water efficiency through the socialisation of Jakarta Governor Regulation (Pergub) Number 5 of 2026 regarding Energy and Water Efficiency to government agencies and private enterprises.

“The activity aims to strengthen understanding while encouraging the implementation of energy and water efficiency within both the government environment and the private sector,” said the Deputy Mayor of North Jakarta, Fredy Setiawan, in Jakarta on Tuesday.

According to him, energy and water efficiency is a component of good governance. He expressed his desire for this to become a shared culture and movement realised through concrete, coordinated, monitored, and evaluated actions.

“We are requesting all regional apparatus to understand the provisions contained in Governor Regulation Number 5 of 2026, including the implementation of energy audits and follow-up actions based on the results of energy usage evaluations in every building,” said Fredy.

The Head of Energy at the Jakarta Provincial Department of Manpower, Transmigration, and Energy (Nakertransgi), Ulin Nuha, explained that Governor Regulation Number 5 of 2026 serves as a foundation for strengthening energy efficiency implementation while supporting efforts to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in Jakarta.

He noted that achieving the target of reducing GHG emissions by approximately 50 per cent by 2030 and reaching Net Zero Emission (NZE) by 2050 requires the involvement of all stakeholders.

Meanwhile, the Head of the North Jakarta Nakertransgi Sub-department, Noviar Dinaryanti, explained that the socialisation is a result of collaboration with the Jakarta Provincial Nakertransgi Department.

Participants in the activity included six sub-departments, 22 sub-agencies, the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP), six districts, 31 sub-districts, six district community health centres (Puskesmas), 44 sub-district community health centres, five regional public hospitals (RSUD), and 25 private enterprises.
