Nordic nations agree on supply chain resilience cooperation during crises

Moscow (ANTARA) - Nordic countries have signed a joint declaration regarding cooperation on supply resilience during crises or conflicts, the Swedish government announced on Wednesday.

“We all recognise the need to take further steps in developing and deepening cooperation in the field of supply resilience,” the Swedish government stated in a release.

The statement noted that participating nations will seek new collective solutions to address cross-border challenges in production, logistics, and the supply of essential goods and services during various emergency situations.

The participating nations plan to ensure supply continuity, encourage public-private partnerships, guarantee access to critical raw materials, and exchange expertise in these areas.

The declaration was signed on Wednesday by Iceland, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway, as well as Greenland, the Faroe Islands, and the Åland Islands.

In recent years, authorities in the Nordic region have taken various steps to prepare their citizens for potential crises. In 2024, Finland and Sweden distributed updated guidelines to their citizens on how to prepare for war and emergencies.
