None too peaceful
None too peaceful
From Bisnis Indonesia
On Sept. 1, 1995 I read in a Jakarta newspaper about burglaries taking place in the Bumi Serpong Damai (damai meaning peaceful) housing complex in the Tangerang region, 36 kilometers southwest of Jakarta.
On the same day my uninhabited house in sector 14 also had an unwanted visitor. In his haste to avoid being caught red-handed, the burglar left behind various house fixtures which he'd gathered and intended to take: door locks, electrical switches, water taps and a toilet.
A friend of mine, also living in sector 14, previously suffered a bigger loss. I am afraid other empty houses in the Bumi Serpong Damai complex will also be burglarized.
I wish to attract the attention of the complex's management board of this situation, especially Mr. Ciputra, because his name was one of the plus points which made me buy a house in Bumi Serpong Damai.
