'None' and 'Abang' Jakarta named

JAKARTA (JP): Rahma Alia from South Jakarta and Roni Ardhianto
from East Jakarta were crowned here at the Jakarta Convention
Center on Saturday as this year's Miss and Mr. Jakarta or None
and Abang Jakarta.

They beat 28 other finalists from the five mayoralties in the
city.

Rahma and Roni each received a car, Rp 4 million in cash, a
cellphone and other gifts from sponsors.

The announcement of Abang and None Jakarta was made by
Governor Sutiyoso.

The finalists answered questions asked by Tika Panggabean and
Deni Chandra -- both are from Project P comedian group, on three
issues: democracy, environment and tourism.

Their answers varied. Interestingly, similar answers were
given for the different issues: considering the strong
paternalism in Indonesian society, the (government) leaders were
expected to act as role models for the people. (sim)
