PT Pertamina (Persero) has officially increased the prices of non-subsidised Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) in 5.5 kg and 12 kg cylinders starting from 18 April 2026. In fact, this is the first price hike since the last adjustment on 22 November 2023.

The average price increase is Rp17,000 for the 5.5 kg LPG and Rp36,000 for the 12 kg LPG.

Pertamina’s VP of Corporate Communication, Muhammad Baron, explained that the decision to adjust non-subsidised LPG prices was made after careful consideration of the current economic conditions. According to him, this is important to guarantee the sustainability of LPG supply throughout Indonesia.

“The adjustment to non-subsidised LPG (Bright Gas) prices for 12 kg and 5.5 kg effective 18 April takes into account developments in global energy prices and the rupiah exchange rate, as well as to maintain the sustainability of energy supply,” he stated to CNBC Indonesia, quoted on Monday (20/4/2026).

Indeed, over the past few years, the company has endeavoured to keep non-subsidised LPG prices stable despite upward trends in the international market. The current adjustment is seen as a measured policy after monitoring market conditions over a long period.

“For several years now, Pertamina has kept prices stable amid rising trends in the international market, so this adjustment is a measured step that considers the prevailing conditions,” he continued.

On the other hand, Pertamina assures that the supply of subsidised 3 kg LPG cylinders will continue to be distributed normally at stable prices. The company urges the public from the capable category to continue using non-subsidised products so that government energy subsidies are more on target.

“Pertamina ensures that 3 kg subsidised LPG continues to be distributed on target and urges capable members of the public to use non-subsidised LPG so that subsidy allocations can be more effective and enjoyed by those who deserve it,” he concluded.

For example, according to Pertamina Patra Niaga’s official website, in the regions of Java, Bali, and West Nusa Tenggara, the 5.5 kg LPG price has increased by Rp17,000 to Rp107,000 per cylinder. Meanwhile, for the 12 kg package in areas from Banten to Bali, it is now priced at Rp228,000, an increase of Rp36,000 from the previous price.
