Non-Subsidised Fuel Prices Rise by Up to Rp 9,400, Central Jakarta Petrol Stations Receive Early Morning Information

JAKARTA – Non-subsidised fuel oil (BBM) prices have officially risen starting Saturday (18/4/2026). Information about the increase was only received by petrol stations after midnight.

The morning-afternoon shift head at SPBU 02 Abdul Muis in Central Jakarta, Eka, said that they received the notification around 01:00 WIB on Saturday morning.

Staff then immediately conveyed the price change to customers at the location.

“We inform them first before filling up, so they don’t get surprised,” Eka told Kompas.com on Saturday.

According to Eka, complaints usually arise because the amount of fuel obtained becomes smaller due to the price increase.

Nevertheless, vehicles with red plates continue to purchase non-subsidised fuel as needed. Purchases of Pertamax Turbo by motorbikes remain stable.

“Pertamax Turbo’s increase is still affordable. A motorbike full tank is 3 litres. So they still buy it,” Eka explained.

Kompas.com observations at the petrol station on Saturday afternoon showed no queues of vehicles at the Pertamax Turbo, Dexlite, or Pertamina Dex filling points.

Two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles entered and exited smoothly.

One blue angkot filled up with Pertamax Ron 92, while four motorbikes took turns filling up with the same fuel.

This price increase follows PT Pertamina (Persero)’s adjustment to non-subsidised BBM.

Quoted from Pertamina’s official website, the price of Pertamax Turbo has risen by Rp 6,300, from Rp 13,100 to Rp 19,400 per litre.

Meanwhile, subsidised BBM prices remain unchanged. Pertalite stays at Rp 10,000 per litre and Biosolar at Rp 6,800 per litre.
