Jakarta — A number of residents who are not travelling to their hometowns will receive special treatment in Jakarta to celebrate the Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah holidays through the “Mudik ke Jakarta” (Coming to Jakarta) programme.

“For those who are not travelling home, we have made it clear that since Jakarta’s theme is ‘Mudik ke Jakarta’, they will receive special treatment,” said DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung to journalists in North Jakarta on Sunday.

Pramono stated that for two days, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will offer free public transport throughout Jakarta, including Transjakarta bus rapid transit, Jakarta MRT, and Jakarta LRT.

Additionally, holders of the Jakarta Smart Card (KJP) will be granted free access to tourism centres such as Ancol, the National Monument, Ragunan Zoo and others.

“In this way, we hope Jakarta will remain vibrant even though approximately half of the population will be travelling to their hometowns,” he said.

The programme is implemented by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government in collaboration with the Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI) DKI Jakarta, the Indonesian Travel Agency Association (Astindo) DKI, and the Jakarta Experience Board.

The “Mudik ke Jakarta” programme will run from 27 February to 31 March 2026.

The packages offered in the “Mudik ke Jakarta” programme are as follows:

  1. Hotel promotions: special pricing offering two nights paid, three nights free at 26 hotels in Jakarta

  2. Discounts and special pricing at various tourism destinations, including recreation and entertainment venues, museums, cinemas, golf courses, spas, and others

  3. Discounted and special pricing for flights with Citilink and Indonesian Railways (KAI) services to Jakarta

  4. Private city tour packages.
