Non-Active Pati Regent Sudewo Charged with Receiving Rp3.8 Billion from DJKA Projects
Non-active Pati Regent Sudewo has been charged with receiving bribes and gratuities totalling Rp3.8 billion in connection with railway infrastructure projects under the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) at the Ministry of Transportation. The indictment was read by public prosecutors during a hearing at the Semarang Corruption Court on Monday, 15 June 2026. Sudewo is alleged to have received the money and various gratuities while serving as a member of the House of Representatives’ Commission V between 2021 and 2023.
Public Prosecutor Joko Hermawan explained that the bribes and gratuities originated from several project contractors and commitment-making officials involved in railway line construction projects in Central Java and East Java.
In the first indictment, Sudewo is accused of receiving bribes totalling approximately Rp1.3 billion from various parties linked to railway construction projects under the Central Java and East Java Railway Engineering Centres. One of the receipts disclosed by the prosecutor came from the Commissioner of PT Mataram Inti Konstruksi, Nur Hidayat. According to the prosecutor, Sudewo received Rp450 million related to the Mojokerto-Surabaya double-track project (JGMS). The prosecutor explained that Nur Hidayat obtained work on the project through a joint operation scheme with another construction company. Although not directly involved in executing the project work, Nur Hidayat still received a fee, part of which was then given to the defendant. “Nur Hidayat still received a fee of Rp450 million despite not carrying out the work in the joint operation,” the prosecutor stated during the hearing presided over by Judge Edwin Pudyono.
Sudewo is also accused of receiving Rp200 million from the Director of PT Indria Putra Persada, Ferry Septha Indrianto. The money was said to be a fee related to the Solo-Semarang double-track project (JGSS 1) won by the company. Furthermore, the prosecutor revealed a receipt of Rp721 million from the Director of PT Istana Putra Agung, Dion Renato Sugiarto.
