Nomiya's motorcade in accident

BANGKOK (AFP): Japanese Prince Tomohito Mikasa Nomiya's
motorcade was involved in an accident on the way to an Asian
Games venue on Wednesday but the prince was unharmed, Thai police
said.

A vehicle in the prince's motorcade glanced off an oncoming
car as the procession met traffic flowing onto an expressway
leading to Muang Thong Thani sport complex.

Thai Prime Minister Chuan Leekpai said official dignitaries
were usually accompanied by police bodyguards, but he had not yet
received a full report on the incident.

The Prince is a nephew of the Japanese Emperor Akihito and
Empress Michiko.
