Nine people have nominated themselves or have applied to be a gubernatorial candidate. They come from different circles with different backgrounds. Some of them have vigorously lobbied in order to be named as a candidate.

According to religion, there are three requirements that a leader must fulfill. * Fathonah (smart) which means that he should be smart enough in making use of a situation for the common good. * Amanah (trustworthy), meaning that he does something without expecting anything in return. * Tabligh, being able to channel/address people's aspirations.

Of course, there is a list of other requirements such as a leader should not engage in corruption, collusion and nepotism and needs to be courageous enough to dare to go against the mainstream for the sake of truth.

We still remember Bang Ali Sadikin, a former city governor, as he was a figure who made the common people happy.
