Nokia wins order from Telkomsel
HELSINKI: Nokia, the world's largest mobile-phone maker, has won an order to expand the wireless network of PT Telekomunikasi Selular, Indonesia's biggest mobile-phone company.
Nokia, based in Espoo, Finland, has already started delivering equipment and services for the operator. Nokia gave no value for the order in an e-mailed release sent today.
The operator, known as Telkomsel, is expanding the capacity of its network as demand increases. It has more than 17.5 million wireless subscribers and the number is increasing "rapidly," Nokia said.
The operator is a unit of PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia, the nation's biggest phone company.-- AP
