Nokia 8800 not easy to get your hands on

One week after officially being launched here, the Nokia 8800 is apparently not easy to find.

Salespeople at Nokia stores in Mal Taman Anggrek, West Jakarta and Atrium Senen, Central Jakarta, said on Friday that the latest Nokia was not yet available.

"We are yet to be supplied with the product. Maybe, other stores already have it," a salesman at the Nokia store in Atrium Senen said.

Who would have thought it so hard to part with Rp 9.1 million (US$1,011)?

The Nokia 8800 has a slide mechanism that uses ball bearings normally used in the sports car industry.

Its slim design and stainless steel body are tastefully unobtrusive, while brilliant composer Ryuchi Sakamoto is responsible for its audio selection.

The phone carries a two-year warranty, has scratch-resistant glass and applies Audio Stereo Bluetooth wireless technology. -JP
