Noel Hopes Ducati Gift Revelation Will Emerge When Irvian Bobby Testifies as Crown Witness
Jakarta, Kompas.com - Former Deputy Minister of Manpower Immanuel Ebenezer, alias Noel, hopes that the incident involving the gifting of a Ducati motorcycle and other presents, when Irvian Bobby Mahendro—the Coordinator for Institutional and Personnel Affairs in Occupational Safety and Health at the Ministry of Manpower for 2022-2025—is examined as a crown witness in the trial on Monday (20/4/2026). “That’s what we’re hoping for (regarding the gifting being discussed),” Noel said while providing testimony after the hearing at the Jakarta Corruption Court on Thursday (16/4/2026). “My hope is that everything is just laid bare. Don’t hold back, don’t hide it. For example, if the former minister is involved, include them too. If the former deputy minister is involved, include them too,” he added. “This is called leadership, which must involve the minister, then the deputy minister and so on. Don’t hide it; that’s what we want,” Noel stated. This submission is currently awaiting consideration from the Chief Judge of the Central Jakarta District Court. In the hearing, Presiding Judge Nur Sari Baktiana confirmed this submission to Bobby. “Is it true, sir, that you are nominating yourself as a crown witness?” asked Presiding Judge Nur Sari Baktiana during the hearing at the Jakarta Corruption Court on Thursday (16/4/2026). Bobby confirmed it, stating he was nominating himself as a crown witness for the case involving Noel and the other defendants. “Yes, Your Honour, I am nominating myself as a crown witness for today’s trial,” Bobby replied. Moreover, the nomination as a crown witness is considered to should have been made during the investigation phase of the legal process, not once it has entered the trial stage. Objections from the legal teams of the other defendants were addressed by the Public Prosecutor (JPU). However, until the end of the hearing, the debate was not resolved, so the panel of judges decided to postpone the trial to Monday (20/4/2026) while awaiting the stance from the leadership of the Central Jakarta District Court.
