Noel Ebenezer Denies Requesting Ducati from 'Sultan Kemnaker': I Am Not a Motorbike Enthusiast
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Former Deputy Minister of Manpower Immanuel Ebenezer, alias Noel, has denied requesting a Ducati Scrambler motorbike from Ministry of Manpower employee Irvian Bobby Mahendro, who is nicknamed ‘Sultan Kemnaker’.
Noel explained that the giving of the motorbike stemmed from a casual conversation about automotive hobbies, during which Bobby offered the motorbike to him.
“At that time, he said, ‘Mr Deputy Minister, you like motorbikes, right?’ I said I don’t like motorbikes. A few weeks later, Bobby’s friend kept inviting me to try the motorbike. He said, ‘Sir, try it first. If it’s not suitable, return it,’” said Noel during the trial of the K3 certification extortion corruption case at the Jakarta Corruption Court on Thursday (7/5/2026).
“A few weeks later, I called Bobby, ‘Is your motorbike going to be given to me?’ He replied, ‘Yes, Sir, send the address,’” he stated.
Therefore, he denied ever asking Bobby for motorbike recommendations.
When confirmed by the prosecutor whether the motorbike request came from him or from Bobby, Noel answered briefly, “Bobby gave it.”
Noel was also surprised when the motorbike arrived at his house because it was too large for him.
“It turned out the motorbike was big, I fell,” said Noel.
He also objected because the used motorbike given by Bobby did not yet have official documents.
“I was also surprised because the motorbike had no papers. I said, how can it be used if there are no documents,” said Noel.
According to Noel, Bobby then offered help to process the vehicle documents and asked for his personal data.
However, he refused to provide that data because he felt uncomfortable using the motorbike.
In the trial on 20 April 2026, Bobby stated that it was Noel who requested a Ducati brand motorbike from him.
