Nobleness must be maintained

In various places, particularly within the Jakarta-Bogor-
Tangerang-Bekasi (Jabotabek) area, many people are earning their
living by dirty means such as making pornographic pictures, films
and videos, and putting them on sale. Also they turn to practices
of prostitution, abortion etc. either done illegally or even
publicly. All these practices are supported by sophisticated and
modern technologies.

Unfortunately their activities are hard to eradicate and the
practitioners continue doing their business unabated. Worse still
there is an impression that the authorities are totally incapable
(of dealing with the lawlessness). In some cases those
responsible for law and order are themselves involved in the
dirty business.

In my opinion, this situation is highly contrary to our civil
conscience. Because, after all, humans are the creation of God,
they are most beautiful and valued among His creations.

The distribution of films, video cassettes and pornographic
pictures exploiting human bodies is a form of abuse, insult and
humiliation. Such abuse and humiliation of woman's body is a
desecration of God's work. There is a wise saying: "The human
body is the place of God, where He is enshrined and does his
godly works. A question arises now, "How can people do this dirty
business? How can men praise the name of God when they are
against the Creator's teachings.

Now is the best time for the authorities and the people within
Jabotabek to contemplate on the matter to the benefit of
succeeding generations. What kind of future would we be facing if
elementary school children speak, or even do pornographic
activities?

I am aware of the difficulty of finding a good solution to
this problem. But the government and society should not remain
idle and do nothing about it. I certainly do not want our culture
and civilization to collapse merely because of lust and passion
and love of money and material things.
