Noble deed

A Koantas Bima city bus smashed into our Kijang van on Sept.
28 on Jalan Asia Afrika in Senayan. Three of my friends suffered
serious wounds while I sustained a minor injury.

In the middle of the melee a kind passerby helped us into a
taxi which sped to the Mintohardjo Navy Hospital in Bendungan
Hilir.

As soon as we arrived at the hospital I offered the taxi fare
to the driver but he refused it. I repeated my offer while
glancing at the meter and again the driver reiterated that we
didn't have to pay.

He then wiped the blood off the car seat and drove away. I
managed to ask and jot down his name: Daekys M. Noor, but I
failed to note the taxi number or the name of the taxi company
because we were in a hurry to treat the wounded.

My friends and I would like to express our heartfelt thanks to
the kind driver. May God reward his noble deed.
