No Yustisi Operation: Pramono Reveals Requirements for Job Seekers in Jakarta
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung predicts a surge in arrivals to the capital after the 2026 Eid al-Fitr homecoming season.
The increase in migrants is driven by numerous residents from outside the region coming to seek employment opportunities in the capital.
“Indeed, we suspect there will certainly be a surge of people looking for work in Jakarta,” Pramono stated at Jakarta City Hall on Saturday (21/03/2026).
Jakarta is open to anyone wishing to try their luck, as long as they comply with applicable regulations.
Although there will be no legal enforcement in the form of yustisi operations, Pramono explained that migrants are expected to complete administrative population requirements.
Additionally, skills and capabilities are crucial points to ensure that migrants can be absorbed into Jakarta’s workforce.
“As I have repeatedly stated, Jakarta has no yustisi operations, but we ask that anyone who wants to work in Jakarta certainly completes all administrative requirements, and then works according to their capabilities,” Pramono said.
The phenomenon of increased migrants after Eid is a recurring occurrence that happens every year.
Jakarta remains an economic magnet for residents from various provinces in Indonesia to seek new fortunes after the Idul Fitri holiday period ends.
The Jakarta Provincial Government urges arriving migrants to immediately report their presence to local RT/RW administrators to maintain orderly population administration.
This is important to ensure access to public services and protection for migrant residents while in the capital.
