New student admissions at UIN Sunan Kalijaga through the SNBP, SNBT, SPAN-PTKIN, and UM-PTKIN routes have been completed. However, for those interested in becoming a student at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, registration for new student admissions through independent pathways remains open. Head of Admissions at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, Handini, announced that for prospective students applying via the Independent Achievement Track, the Independent Diversity Portfolio Track, and the International Undergraduate Programme (IUP), the registration period will close on 18 June 2026 at 23:59 WIB. The entire registration process, she stated, is conducted online via the admissions website admisi.uin-suka.ac.id. “For these three pathways, there is no selection process in the form of a written test. Instead, the selection process is carried out through an assessment of achievements or a portfolio, followed by an online interview stage,” Handini said.
Eligibility for the UIN Sunan Kalijaga Independent Pathway extends to graduates from 2026, 2025, 2024, or 2023 from SMA/MA/SMK/MAK/Mu’adalah Education Units/Formal Diniyah Ulya Education/Package C Learning Groups or equivalent, in accordance with prevailing laws and regulations. The age limit is a maximum of 25 years by 1 July 2026, and applicants must possess a diploma or at least a Certificate of Graduation for 2026 graduates, and have paid the independent pathway registration fee according to the stipulated provisions.
The Independent Achievement Track is intended for those with accolades ranging from first to third place, at minimum at the district level, during their secondary education. Achievements that can be submitted cover both academic and non-academic fields, such as arts, sports, religious studies, and Olympiads curated by the National Achievement Centre (Puspresnas). Therefore, applicants are required to attach official certificates or award charters as proof of their accomplishments. Furthermore, “UIN Sunan Kalijaga also provides an opportunity for memorisers of the Qur’an to participate in the selection through the Independent Achievement Track. Prospective students can register by attaching a syahadah or tahfidz certificate for a minimum of 26 juz as one of the selection requirements,” she added.
Meanwhile, the Independent Diversity Portfolio Track, Handini stated, is aimed at non-Muslim prospective students as well as participants domiciled in 3T regions (Disadvantaged, Frontier, and Outermost). Requirements that must be met include uploading a non-Muslim ID card or an ID card showing domicile in a 3T region, a letter of recommendation from a leader of a religious or community organisation, an essay on the theme of diversity, and a statement of purpose explaining the participant’s motivation and study objectives.
For prospective students wishing to gain a learning experience with a global perspective, UIN Sunan Kalijaga presents the International Undergraduate Programme (IUP). Additional requirements for the IUP Track include a minimum TOEFL ITP/TOEC/IKLA score of 450, uploading a motivation letter of at least 300 words, and participating in an interview conducted in English and/or Arabic. Specifically for foreign nationals (WNA), further information can be obtained through the CDCIA or the International Office of UIN Sunan Kalijaga via the official email.
Regarding tuition fees, the undergraduate programme (S1) at UIN Sunan Kalijaga implements a Single Tuition Fee (UKT) system determined based on the student’s economic group and paid at the beginning of each semester. The registration fee for the Independent Achievement Track and the Diversity Portfolio Track is set at IDR 250,000, while the IUP Track is IDR 550,000.
