No new record at boogie show
JAKARTA (JP): Due to strong winds, 130 sky divers of the
international Bali-Lombok boogie show were only able to form a
little star of no more than 30 parachutists -- far from the Asian
record of 80, let alone the world record of 216, though some of
them are world-rated.
Inadequate time for joint parachuting training was also
responsible for the failure, a show organizer was quoted by
Antara as saying.
A participant, Mark Newman of England, was flown back to his
country after landing at Lombok's Senggigi beach and getting a
sprained ankle on Tuesday. Around 80 foreign parachutists,
including those from the U.S., the Netherlands, Japan and
Germany, have taken part in the two-week show slated to end
yesterday. (arf)
