No Need to Visit Satpas: Jakarta's Mobile SIM Service Opens at 5 Locations Today

JAKARTA - Residents of Jakarta whose driving licences (SIM) are about to expire do not need to visit the Satpas office. Polda Metro Jaya is providing the SIM Keliling service at five different locations on Wednesday (6/5/2026). Through its official X account, @tmcpoldametro, the service will be open from 08:00 to 14:00 WIB and is specifically for renewing certain types of SIM. The service only handles renewals for active SIM A and SIM C. If the validity period has already expired, applicants cannot use the mobile service and must apply for a new SIM at the designated police location. To process the renewal, applicants must bring a valid ID card, the old SIM, and complete proof of health examination and psychological tests through the Simpel Pol application. In addition, there are extra fees for the health examination and psychological tests. The total renewal cost usually ranges from Rp 190,000 to Rp 220,000. With the service spread across locations, it is hoped that the public can renew their SIM more easily without queuing at the main service office.
