No management
No management
at Kota Wisata
From Kompas
In 1997, I bought a house in Kota Wisata of Bogor, West Java,
as I was attracted by its security system, its comfort and the
facilities offered.
Unfortunately, comfort has now gone from Kota Wisata as this
housing estate turns into a recreation spot every public holiday.
Obviously, the residents are very much disturbed as there are
traffic jams leading up to the housing estate, difficulties in
entering the compound, a lack of maintenance and poor security.
Robbery and thefts are usual as the housing estate has been
expanded out of proportion, and the number of security guards
inadequate for the area. As a result, the residents have to pay
quite a large amount of money towards security and maintenance,
which should actually be the responsibility of the developer.
Sports clubs or family clubs, which the developer promised,
have yet to be built, as the developer is more interested in
constructing commercial compounds such as the Kampung Wisata
(Tourist Village) and other recreation centers. It is really
crazy that the residents of Kota Wisata must also pay parking
fees when visiting these centers.
Aside from all this, film crews usually come to shoot on
location in the townhouses, again disturbing the residents. It is
clear that the management of Kota Wisata does not exercise any
control.
In short, the owner of Kota Wisata thinks only of how to
benefit commercially from this area, and never about the need of
the residents.
