The owner of a restaurant in Kemang, South Jakarta, Nabilah O’Brien, and a married couple who were reported for allegedly stealing food have reached a settlement after mediation by the Indonesian Police’s Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim). Nabilah also expressed appreciation for the support shown by Habiburrokhman, the chair of DPR RI’s Commission III, in resolving the case.

“I want to say thank you, first of all I want to thank Mr Habiburrokhman. Excellent,” Nabilah told reporters after the mediation at Bareskrim Polri on Sunday, March 8, 2026.

Nabilah did not directly answer whether she would attend the Public Hearing (RDPU) in Commission III of the DPR regarding the case. Nevertheless, she said she was relieved that her status as a suspect had been dropped.

“I’ll let you know later. Anyway, I’m not a suspect anymore,” Nabilah said.

Nabilah was previously named a suspect by Bareskrim after she was charged under the Information and Electronic Transactions Law (UU ITE) for disseminating CCTV footage of the couple alleged to have stolen food from her restaurant. Nabilah and the couple, who were also reported for allegedly stealing food, later held a mediation and agreed to a peace settlement at Mabes Polri.

“I forgive everyone, I want to sleep, I want to work, I’m not a suspect anymore, that’s all,” Nabilah said.

Previously, Nabilah had reported the couple suspected of stealing at her restaurant to the Mampang Police Station. The report has now been withdrawn following the peaceful agreement.

“I forgive them 100 percent, yes (the report has been withdrawn) I want to sleep because of it,” she said.

Mutual withdrawal of reports

Police disclosed the mediation results after both parties were brought together at Mabes Polri. Polri’s Divhumas public information officer Brig. Gen. Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko said both sides agreed to withdraw their respective reports.

“In today’s meeting, the parties present were Mr Z and his wife, Ms ES, and also Ms NA and Mr KDH. Four parties attended and then reached a peace agreement. In the peace agreement we have just explained, and in this process each party has withdrawn their reports against their respective complainants,” Trunoyudo told reporters on Sunday night.
