No Layoffs in Telkom Streamlining, Dasco to Oversee Tripartite Agreement

Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, accompanied by Chair of Commission VI Anggia Ermarini and Deputy Chair Andre Rosiade, received representatives of the Telkom Indonesia Workers Union (Sekar Telkom) at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Jakarta, to directly hear their aspirations regarding the ongoing streamlining process of Telkom Group. The meeting on Thursday (23/7/2026) was a follow-up to a series of previous meetings, ranging from a Hearing Session (RDP) to coordination meetings between Sekar Telkom, Commission VI, the Danantara Investment Authority, and Telkom’s Board of Directors, with discussions focused on solutions that pay attention to workers’ rights amid the company’s transformation process.

Under Dasco’s direction, Commission VI has facilitated a series of communications between Sekar Telkom, Danantara, and Telkom’s Board of Directors over the past few weeks. Through this dialogue process, the three parties finally agreed on several important points: the Telkom Group streamlining process is confirmed not to result in termination of employment (PHK); all employees, wherever they are assigned, will retain their status as Telkom Group employees and receive the same incentives and benefits; some employees will be placed in a new business unit called Telkom Enterprise with a guarantee of no layoffs even if the unit does not develop as planned; and the rights of employees in subsidiaries that are no longer operating, including PT PINS Indonesia, remain protected through a guarantee of salary continuity from Telkom and Danantara.

Deputy Chair of Commission VI Andre Rosiade explained that the facilitation was carried out following the direction of the DPR leadership so that Sekar Telkom’s complaints could be resolved through dialogue between the parties. “We were asked by the DPR leadership, Mr Dasco, to resolve the complaints from our friends at Sekar Telkom. Alhamdulillah, after a process lasting several weeks, all issues have been resolved together,” said Andre. In a similar vein, Chair of Commission VI Anggia Ermarini stressed that the commission will continue to oversee the implementation of the agreement in stages so that the process runs smoothly without harming workers or the future transformation process of Telkom Group.

Meanwhile, General Chair of Sekar Telkom Nasri expressed gratitude for the dialogue facilitation provided by the DPR leadership and Commission VI. According to him, certainty of status as state-owned enterprise (BUMN) employees is the main aspiration that Telkom workers and its subsidiaries, including PINS, have been fighting for. “In essence, we as employees want certainty over our status as BUMN employees. Alhamdulillah, today there are several solutions, and going forward the implementation stages will be discussed further in stages with the BUMN and Danantara,” said Nasri. Nasri also expressed appreciation to Dasco and the leaders of Commission VI, Anggia Ermarini and Andre Rosiade, for their commitment to overseeing every stage of the agreement’s implementation until completion. Through this dialogue, the DPR RI seeks to ensure that the Telkom Group streamlining policy provides certainty for workers while supporting the company’s transformation process towards a stronger and more competitive digital strategic holding.
