No Gibran in Jokowi's Entourage for Visit to Palace
Joko Widodo visited the Presidential Palace in Central Jakarta on the first day of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah, Saturday, 21 March 2026, to exchange greetings with President Prabowo Subianto. Iriana Jokowi, Jokowi’s wife, and Kaesang Pangarep—Jokowi’s youngest son—were seen participating in the halal bihalal event. Kaesang brought along his wife, Erina Gudono.
Photos of the meeting between Jokowi and Prabowo at the Palace were shared by the Gerindra Party Chairman on his personal social media. “The presence of these figures reflects the continuity of national leadership that remains closely intertwined in a familial atmosphere,” stated the Presidential Secretariat’s Press Bureau in an official caption.
Before Jokowi arrived at the Palace, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) arrived first. Jokowi’s eldest son, Gibran Rakabuming Raka—now the vice president—joined the meeting between Prabowo and SBY. However, Gibran was not seen when Jokowi’s entourage and family arrived at the Presidential Palace.
A colleague of Jokowi and Gibran once stated that the seventh president limits public appearances with his eldest son, who now serves as RI-2. In this year’s greetings event, all of Prabowo’s guests wore cream-coloured attire.
Only Kaesang and Erina were seen wearing different coloured clothing, namely neon green. Meanwhile, Prabowo and his son, Didit Hediprasetyo Djodjohadikusumo, wore sky blue shirts.
