No Fuel Price Hike, Putri Zulhas Pushes for Energy Saving and Wise Usage Campaign
Chair of the National Mandate Party (PAN) Faction in the House of Representatives, Putri Zulkifli Hasan, has appreciated the government’s decision to ensure no increase in fuel prices from 1 April 2026. According to her, this is important to maintain public purchasing power.
“This policy is crucial for safeguarding public purchasing power and economic stability,” stated Putri Zulhas in a written statement on Tuesday (31/3/2026).
This Deputy Chair of Commission XII of the House of Representatives emphasised that this momentum must be utilised to strengthen the long-term energy agenda, as affirmed in the II National Conference of PAN 2026, particularly through campaigns for energy saving and wise usage.
“PAN encourages an energy saving and wise usage movement among all cadres as a concrete step to maintain national energy resilience,” she explained.
She added that energy price stability needs to be accompanied by accelerating the transition to more sustainable energy sources, while supporting the government vision of President Prabowo Subianto for energy self-sufficiency.
“The PAN Faction is ready to oversee energy policies that not only maintain current stability but also strengthen national energy independence in the future,” she asserted.
The PAN Faction also urges PT Pertamina (Persero) to ensure smooth and targeted fuel distribution.
Putri further emphasised the importance of field oversight of fuel distribution and firm action against deviant practices, including misappropriation and hoarding.
“We demand tighter distribution oversight and no room for misappropriation or fuel hoarding practices. This must be firmly addressed so as not to harm the public,” she asserted.
In addition, Putri encourages the active role of the Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Body (BPH Migas) to ensure transparent, accountable, and targeted energy distribution governance.
