No exception for 'student killers'
JAKARTA (JP): A lawyer defending three students charged with torturing a freshman to death told the West Jakarta District Court yesterday that there was no exception for the indictment.
"There is no gap that provides us a possibility to make an exception," lawyer Djiono said.
Tjung Kim Fui, 21, Budi Sutanto, 22, and Tumpal Saragih, 25, members of student army regiments at the private Tarumanegara University, are being tried for allegedly beating and trampling of The Manto, a student regiment recruit, during regiment training on Jan. 28 and 29, 1995.
