No Down Payment: Hyundai Car Subscription Starts from Rp16 Million Monthly
JAKARTA — The way consumers access vehicles is beginning to change. Whereas vehicle ownership was once synonymous with large down payments and extended instalments, an increasing section of the public is now turning to more flexible models, including subscription schemes.
This trend is beginning to emerge in Indonesia. Wahyu Seto, General Manager of Hyundai Indonesia, stated that the programme resulted from internal company research identifying a shift in consumer behaviour. According to Wahyu, more consumers no longer view vehicle ownership as the sole option. They are increasingly seeking alternatives that offer greater flexibility and align with their mobility needs.
Under the Hyundai Subscribe scheme, the monthly fee already covers various vehicle requirements such as maintenance, insurance, and vehicle registration (STNK). If a vehicle encounters problems, Hyundai also provides replacement units with the same or even higher-class models.
For new vehicles, subscription packages are available with durations ranging from 12 to 60 months at prices starting from Rp16 million per month. Hyundai also offers short-term options beginning at three months using used vehicles.
The range of available models has also expanded. Whereas previously only the Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 5 N were available, Hyundai is now considering adding other models based on customer feedback, including the possibility of introducing other electric vehicle models and the Stargazer in this programme.
