JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar stated that the momentum of Eid al-Adha 2026 is not only a marker of religious worship but also strengthens the values of brotherhood and national unity.

This year, there will be no difference in the date of the Eid al-Adha celebration.

“We all hope that this moment can strengthen togetherness, enhance Islamic solidarity (ukhuwah Islamiyah), and reaffirm national unity,” said Nasaruddin at the Ministry of Religious Affairs office, Jakarta, Sunday (17/5/2026).

The Minister hopes that this government decision will serve as a common guide for Indonesian Muslims in carrying out the series of rituals leading up to Eid al-Adha.

“The government hopes that this decision can be a guide for all Muslims in Indonesia to begin the series of Zulhijah worship,” said Nasaruddin Umar. Previously, the Central Executive Board of Muhammadiyah had also announced that Eid al-Adha 2026 will fall on Wednesday, May 27, 2026.
