No art on TV during Ramadhan
No art on TV during Ramadhan
From Media Indonesia
As in previous years, TV stations will be airing special pre-
dawn programs during Ramadhan to present lectures delivered by
Muslim religious teachers.
In order to make the atmosphere of these programs religious
and different from entertainment, the stations should give an
opportunity to teachers of high quality rather than just the
popular ones.
In addition, as those that are invited to be on Ramadhan
programs should be people of good morality, these clerics should
not be rubbing shoulders with artists and comedians, because most
of those stars cannot set moral examples by Islamic standards.
This can be noticed in their attire, poses, manners, speech
and jokes. Worse still, the programs with artists may involve
gossip, while they do not realize or pretend to be unaware that
gossiping is a sin.
