Participants distributed jenang, a traditional porridge, to residents during the Nirmala Nusantara jenang festival in the Ngarsopuro district of Solo, Central Java, on Tuesday (17/2/2026).

A total of 20,000 takir — containers fashioned from banana leaves — filled with jenang nusantara were handed out free of charge to the public to enliven Solo’s 281st anniversary celebrations, whilst also preserving jenang as a traditional Indonesian culinary delicacy and encouraging tourism visits.
