Nintendo has released a mini music player in the iconic shape of the old Game Boy. The product is named Pokémon Red & Pokémon Blue Game Music Collection: Game Boy Jukebox. The music player was launched to celebrate Pokémon’s 30th anniversary. As a music device, the Game Boy Jukebox loads a collection of tracks from Pokémon games. Although its appearance resembles a game console, Nintendo stresses that the Pokémon Red & Pokémon Blue Game Music Collection: Game Boy Jukebox is not a device for playing games. The product is purely a music player designed to evoke nostalgia for fans of Pokémon, recalling their adventures in the Kanto region through iconic music from the classic Pokémon series. Instead, music playback occurs via mini cartridges, with no touchscreen or digital app assistance. In total, 45 mini cartridges are available, each unlocking a specific track. The included tracks come from Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue. Some iconic tunes included are the Lavender Town theme, the Hall of Fame melody, and battle music against Gym Leaders and wild Pokémon. Nintendo also confirms that this mini music player does not include a headphone jack, so playback can only be done via the built-in speaker. In China, purchases were conducted via a lottery system opened from 6 March 2026. The product is also being sold in the United Kingdom, but reports indicate it sold out immediately. The price of the Pokémon Red & Pokémon Blue Game Music Collection: Game Boy Jukebox is set at $69.99 USD (approximately Rp 1.1 million).
