Nine teachers with civil servant status in Brebes have been named suspects in a case involving an illegal attendance application. The suspects profited by selling the application to civil servants who wished to cheat the attendance system. Each suspect had a specific role. The case began when the Brebes Regency Personnel and Human Resources Development Agency (BKPSDMD) reported the existence of the application. To confirm the attendance fraud, BKPSDMD disabled the official attendance application system on specific dates. It was subsequently proven that during that period, many civil servants were still recording their attendance, even though the application was already inactive. Brebes Police Chief AKBP Lilik Ardhiansyah stated that BKPSDMD turned off the attendance system from 29 to 30 April to identify the users. During that time, an anomaly was detected as many civil servants continued to clock in using the application despite it being deactivated. Following the discovery, the Head of BKPSDMD Brebes reported the matter to the police. The police then formed a team consisting of Unit 3 of Specific Crimes and Unit 2 of Corruption Crimes from the Brebes Police Criminal Investigation Unit. After conducting an investigation, examining witnesses, collecting evidence, and seeking opinions from criminal law and ITE experts, the police named nine suspects. The suspects are currently detained at the Brebes Class IIB Detention Centre. The suspects had distinct roles, ranging from creating the illegal application, providing bank accounts to collect sales proceeds, to distributing and using the application. AH, a resident of Songgom, Brebes, played the crucial role of creating the application. DB, a resident of Larangan, Brebes, was responsible for borrowing identity cards as a requirement to open bank accounts for receiving sales proceeds and also distributed and used the application. Suspect FFR, a resident of Larangan, Brebes, was tasked with creating a WhatsApp group for selling the application and also distributed and used it. RTH, a resident of Banyumas, distributed and used the application. NK, a resident of Tonjong, Brebes, distributed and used the application. AM, a resident of Larangan, Brebes, distributed and used the application. SEP, a resident of Banyumas, distributed and used the application. SDK, a resident of Banjarharjo, Brebes, distributed and used the application. LS, a resident of Bantarkawung, Brebes, distributed and used the application. An investigation by the Brebes BKPSDMD team revealed that approximately 3,000 civil servants were users of the illegal attendance application. Brebes Regent Paramitha Widya Kusuma stated that the preliminary findings showed 3,000 civil servant users, including health workers and several officials, with teachers and health workers being the largest groups.
