Nine police officers punished for drugs

BANDA ACEH, Aceh: Nine police officers have been punished here
over the past year for drugs, a senior police officer said here
on Monday.

Sr. Comr. Sayed Husainy, the spokesman of the Aceh provincial
police, said four of the officers had been brought to court, two
out of whom had been sentenced to jail time and dismissed from
the police. The cases of the other two officers are still being
heard by the court.

The other five officers received internal sanctions, including
promotion delays. -- JP
