At least nine people were killed and three others injured in rain-related incidents across Pakistan in the past 24 hours, bringing the total death toll since the monsoon season began on 26 June to 47, according to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA). The latest casualties included six people in the northwestern province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and three in Pakistan-administered Kashmir, with most deaths attributed to flash floods and house collapses. The NDMA reported that 123 people have been injured, 178 houses damaged, and approximately 3.42 kilometres of roads affected since the start of the monsoon. The authority urged residents, particularly those living in flood-prone and mountainous areas, to remain vigilant as monsoon rains are expected to persist in the coming days.
