Nine Indonesian activists and journalists from the Global Peace Convoy Indonesia (GPCI) who were taken hostage by Israel while participating in the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) humanitarian mission to Gaza, Palestine, have arrived at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang on Sunday (24 May 2026). They were part of the GSF mission organised by GPCI. The group departed from Istanbul, Turkey, on Saturday (23 May 2026) evening, with a stopover in Dubai before continuing to Jakarta. The nine Indonesians comprise journalists and humanitarian activists, including Bambang Noroyono and Thoudy Badai from Republika, Andre Prasetyo Nugroho from Tempo TV, Rahendro Herubowo, Andi Angga Prasadewa from Rumah Zakat, Herman Budianto Sudarno and Ronggo Wirosanu from Dompet Dhuafa, as well as Hendro Prasetyo and Asad Aras Muhammad from GPCI.
