May their good deeds be accepted by Allah SWT and may the families left behind be granted strength and fortitude,” said the Chairman of the Surabaya Embarkation PPIH, Mohammad As’adul Anam, on Monday (18/5).
Additionally, the Surabaya PPIH noted that dozens of pilgrims have been forced to delay their flights to Saudi Arabia due to health factors. Currently, 13 pilgrims remain held at the Hajj Dormitory, consisting of 10 ill pilgrims, one companion, and two pilgrims in other categories. The list of delayed pilgrims includes individuals from Pamekasan, Bondowoso, Situbondo, and Jember.
Overall, departures from the Surabaya Embarkation have reached 83 per cent of the total plan. As of 17 May 2026, at 09:30 WIB, a total of 36,413 pilgrims and officials across 96 groups have been flown to the Holy Land. This figure comprises 35,782 pilgrims, 383 officials, 134 Regional Hajj Officers (PHD), and 114 KBIHU guides.
As’adul Anam emphasised that all aspects of service, from accommodation to health monitoring, continue to be tightened to ensure the safety of this departure phase. “The PPIH continues to strengthen cross-sector coordination, including transport, accommodation, health, and flight services, to ensure the entire departure process runs orderly, safe, and on time. The health condition of pilgrims remains our primary concern,” he stated.
Up to the 96th group, aviation authorities recorded that the On-Time Performance (OTP) remains at 100 per cent with no delays. For this year’s Hajj season, the Surabaya Embarkation plans to depart a total of 44,080 people across 116 groups.
