Jakarta — PT Jasa Marga through its Jasamarga Nusantara Tollroad Regional Division (JNT/Regional Nusantara) has recorded an increase in traffic volume on several toll road sections it operates ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah in 2026.

The increase was observed during the period from nine to ten days before Eid, specifically on 11–12 March 2026. In total, the volume of vehicles passing through four Regional Nusantara toll road sections reached 366,528 vehicles.

This figure represents an increase of approximately 0.46 per cent compared to normal conditions, which recorded 364,860 vehicles.

On the Belawan–Medan–Tanjung Morawa toll road section, 172,205 vehicles were recorded, an increase of 1.14 per cent compared to the normal traffic volume of 170,270 vehicles.

Of this total, 38,496 vehicles passed through Amplas toll gate (GT) heading towards Medan city. This figure rose 1.37 per cent compared to normal conditions of 37,974 vehicles.

Meanwhile, vehicles exiting Medan city through Amplas toll gate numbered 41,415 units, an increase of 3.08 per cent compared to normal traffic of 40,179 vehicles.

An increase also occurred on the Medan–Kualanamu–Tebing Tinggi toll road section with a total of 30,474 vehicles passing through. This figure rose 3.99 per cent compared to normal volume of 29,305 vehicles.

Of this total, 9,357 vehicles entered through Kualanamu toll gate from Kualanamu International Airport. This increased 1.17 per cent compared to normal conditions recorded at 9,249 vehicles.

On the Balikpapan–Samarinda toll road section, vehicle volume reached 20,855 units, up 7.16 per cent compared to normal conditions of 19,462 vehicles.

Meanwhile, the Manado–Bitung toll road section recorded traffic volume of 14,327 vehicles, increasing 9.58 per cent compared to normal conditions of 13,075 vehicles.

The chief executive of PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk, Rivan A. Purwantono, has urged the public to plan their travel times to avoid traffic congestion.

According to him, peak outbound traffic on the Belawan–Medan–Tanjung Morawa (Belmera) and Medan–Kualanamu–Tebing Tinggi (MKTT) toll road sections is expected on 17 March 2026.

“By taking advantage of a 30 per cent toll rate discount on several toll road sections operated by Jasa Marga Group, including the Belawan–Medan–Tanjung Morawa (Belmera) and Medan–Kualanamu–Tebing Tinggi (MKTT) sections,” said Rivan in an official statement on Saturday (14 March 2026).

The toll rate discount programme on the Trans-Sumatra sections will be implemented during the outbound travel period from 15 March 2026 at 00.00 WIB until 16 March 2026 at 24.00 WIB.

Jasa Marga has also reminded toll road users to prepare their journeys well during the extended Eid holiday period in 2026.

Additionally, motorists have been urged to always comply with traffic signs and follow instructions from field officers.
