Nine-ball game due to start today

JAKARTA (JP): About 100 local billiard players will compete in
a 16-day tournament held by the De Leila restaurant, from Aug. 1
to Aug. 17.

Organizer Irma told The Jakarta Post on Friday that the
tournament is open for both men and women where they will compete
with nine balls.

"The tournament is held to commemorate Indonesia's 54th
independence day. We hope that through this tournament, we could
create talented billiard players," Irma said.

Irma said that apart from cash prizes, the winners will also
receive trophies. The winners in the men's division will receive
Rp 4 million, Rp 2 million and Rp 1 million while the women will
receive Rp 2 million, Rp 1 million and Rp 500,000.

Those interested in competing in the tournament may register
their names at the De Leila restaurant, Patra Jasa Building,
ground floor with the registration fee of Rp 35,000. (lnt)
