“The social sanction will be permanent expulsion from Peresak Timur Neighbourhood,” said Mataram Police Sector Chief AKP Mulyadi to detikBali on Tuesday (24/3/2026).

He explained that the perpetrators have been living with relatives, such as grandparents, not their biological parents. By mutual agreement among the residents, they have been decided not to be allowed to live in the neighbourhood any longer.

With this agreement, the assault case will not proceed to legal proceedings. There are also no compensation demands from the victim’s side.

The assault began when the victim, along with his wife, was passing through Jalan Raya Bung Karno, Mataram, on Sunday (22/3) afternoon. The victim was allegedly tailed by motorcyclists from Peresak Neighbourhood.
